Day to day itinerary

Days 1-2

Experience the Victoria Falls area

Today your tour starts when you are met by a representative at Victoria Falls Airport for your road transfer to Toka Leya.

This luxurious tented camp has a postcard-perfect setting on the Zambian banks of the Zambezi River, lying in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, a short distance from Victoria Falls.

Spend two days discovering this action-packed region, famous as Africa’s adventure capital. Activities on offer at an additional cost include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-light flights, canoeing, jet boating, white-water rafting and fishing. You could also choose to go on game drives, river cruises and guided nature walks

When you are not out exploring, unwind back at the camp’s swimming pool before heading to the tree-canopied bar and dining area, complete with fantastic views of the Zambezi River.

Days 3-4

Transfer to Little Makalolo

Enjoy breakfast before transferring by road to Victoria Falls Airport. After clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by a representative who will assist you with your scheduled light aircraft transfer to Hwange National Park and your next camp – Little Makalolo.

Little Makalolo is one of the very few camps located in the park itself. With only six intimate tents, it offers a secluded getaway with luxurious comforts such as en suite facilities that include a flush toilet, shower, hot and cold running water and a magical outdoor shower.

Explore the Makalolo concession on 4×4 game drives and guided walks with armed guides. You can expect to see a wide variety of animals including buffalo, elephants and all sorts of classic animals like zebra, giraffe and antelope species. Hwange is famous for its predators and bird watchers will be delighted by the rich birdlife.

Little Makalolo also features a hide where you can enjoy waterhole game viewing in between activities. Alternatively, relax in the lounge and bar area or enjoy a refreshing swim in the plunge pool.

Days 5-6

Transfer to Ruckomechi Camp

After your final breakfast at Little Makalolo, you will be transferred to Ruckomechi Camp, a well-established lodge set on the western region of Mana Pools National Park, via light aircraft. Your final camp for this tour is located in a grove of acacia and mahogany trees overlooking the Zambezi River and the mountains of the Great Rift Valley.

Go on daily game walks with armed guides and game drives in 4×4 vehicles. It is classic big game country and you’ll be keeping an eye out for predators including lion, wild dog, leopard, cheetah as well as buffalo at the river’s edge while kudu, zebra, impala and waterbuck can be seen on the Zambezi’s floodplains. Elephants often splash about in the waterhole in front of the camp as do large numbers of water birds.

Unwind back at the camp in the beautiful infinity pool and central dining, lounge and library area – all connected to the tented rooms by walkways.

Day 7

Return to Victoria Falls
