Overview

Located on the south edge of the Okavango Delta in Botswana, this present-day modern safari camp offers great views of wildlife in an open sanctuary, and has a huge abundance of both land animals and aquatic wildlife. Accommodation at this special campsite is limited to nine lavish safari tent suites which overlook a permanent lagoon. Much of its inspiration comes from the water lilies that thrive here. The location of the Xaranna Tented Camp in a private area makes it ideal for families who want to avoid crowed suites where they can enjoy their holidays in peace with their friends.

The region of the Delta with its waterholes, swamps, forests and islands, extends from your tent as far as you can see. Wetlands, sure can be considered as a sanctuary for many thirsty elephants along with sightings of hippos and crocodiles. In the summer, migratory birds crowd the Delta region and make it a haven for birdwatchers.

The accommodations at Xaranna Tented Camp are close to the countryside. The nine tents are spacious, comfortably furnished and each has a swimming pool and a sheltered shower outside for you to relax in peace. Children are welcome and the staff has designed a special program for them called ‘what could stimulate their young imagination more than an Okavango treasure hunt?

Facilities

The campsite has a variety of comfortable common areas which are ideal for feeling calm and relaxing. Rest areas provide a comfortable place to read, watch birds or meet other guests. Playing games on the site is an ideal activity family which includes outdoor fun activities, while the library is an excellent resource for gaining knowledge about the African wildlife. The elevated wooden hall provides fascinating local artwork which portrays a privileged view of the delta that stretches for miles.

In addition to morning and afternoon safaris with expert and professional guides, the campsite offers interpretative safaris which allow a close encounter with smaller animals, including the adorable little five which includes ant lion, rhino beetle, elephant shrew, buffalo weaver and the leopard tortoise. You can also go for River cruises, depending on the water levels in the delta. An open-air boat is a perfect option especially if you want to go for photography or you can even choose canoes, known as mekoro which offers a new unique way of experiencing the wildlife of the delta.

A spa therapist is available for you to enjoy a massage or spa treatment with Africology products. Laundry services such as free Wi-Fi in public areas and a gym is also available. Upon prior request, arrangements can be made for horseback safari ride. Helicopter transfers can also be arranged upon request. There is also a small safari souvenir shop for the most necessary gift relics for recalling your memories at the Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp. An airstrip is also shared with the sister camp called Xudum.

Dining

Meals are offered in the open dining room or around a fireplace in the boma in the open space, under the sky. Upon request, each meal can be served on your private deck or in your tent, and outdoor picnics can also be arranged for breakfast or if it is lunch.

Triple Tent

Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp has nine spacious, air-conditioned tents which overlook the beautiful Delta Park, where you sleep in comfortable four-poster beds with mosquito nets. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub, two sinks and a hairdryer, as well as an indoor and outdoor shower. Decorated in soothing tones; the tents feature a private lounge and an outdoor area with a plunge pool.

Because water mostly surrounds Xaranna, most of the furniture and decor is inspired by the beautiful lilies that grow there. The rooms are in Zen typestyle with light pink color, bright green and white tones that are used everywhere.
