The focal point of the hotel is the welcoming thatch and stone homestead where a bar, lounge area and à la carte restaurant are housed.

Dining

The award-winning restaurant at Walkersons prides itself in offering the opportunity for guests to indulge in fine wining and food – signature dishes include roast duck with a black cherry sauce and locally caught rainbow trout.

Select a wine from the 2 000-bottle cellar to complement the country cuisine and English elegance, before relaxing in front of a log fire. Breakfast is served, weather permitting, on the sun-drenched patio and Walkersons is also happy to supply picnic baskets packed with goodies and a bottle of cold wine.

Rooms

The characteristic stone and thatch cottages, tucked away among trees and gardens, give Walkersons a welcoming ambience. There is a choice of 21 classically decorated rooms in one of three buildings, all within 200m of the manor house.

Each room has a view of the lake or valley from its private patio and affords comforts such as fireside armchairs, tea and coffee-making facilities, a mini-bar, safe, writing desk and satellite TV. Self-catering facilities are also available in some of the suites.

Spacious suites are housed in the manor house, decorated with hand-picked antiques and paintings.

A two-bedroomed Manor Suite sleeps up to four while a Honeymoon Suite has two bathrooms, small kitchen and a jacuzzi.

Walkersons Hotel also offers four private self-catering cottages: set in secluded locations on the estate with accommodation for four, six and ten people, these cottages are ideal for families or groups of friends and have kitchens, barbeque facilities, open-plan living spaces and plenty of privacy.
