Overview
The Volcanoes Virunga Lodge is a lodge situated within the surroundings of dead Virunga Volcano. It overlooks the two lakes; Bulera and Ruhondo.
The lodge is built in a classical African style with stones and wood providing a peaceful environment. The jungles around are filled with golden monkeys and gorillas, which you can talk about over the log fire at sunsets.
The lodge uses most natural means to operate, with water collected from rain water and solar electricity powering the lodge. You are offered new adventures here like trekking and hiking to find gorillas and track the golden monkey. You can also hike up the volcanic mountains.

The lodge offers an extraordinary verandah within itself, which has views of the enchanting lakes. The interior is a warm lounge with the main fireplace and houses a bar.

Dining
Making it a classic safari lodge, you are served with three meals a day. Tea or coffee in the morning is served in bed at a set time while breakfast, lunch and dinner take place in the main dining room.
If your activities are extensive and you would not make it back in time for lunch, the resort packs your lunch to take with you. Dinner is served with three dishes every day. The food uses healthy ingredients and does not compromise on taste.
Rooms
Standard Room
There are eight rooms to choose from. Room features either exotic views of the volcanoes or lakes and have their private verandah and gardens. Bedrooms are spacious with a king sized bed and mosquito netting.
Bathrooms are naturally lit with sun light and hot water showers are powered from solar geysers. A hand sink is also provided within the bathroom.
Apart from the standard stay, there are two specific deluxe honeymoon rooms. Both includes a fireplace in the living room where you can dine in privately, local Kitenge fabric interiors and an authentic Rwanda touch alongside all other facilitates of the standard room.
