Overview

The Thanda Safari Tented Camp is located within Zululand on a hill slope. This is an exciting accommodation packed with localized culture. The camp hosts remarkable service which is personalized and caters to every guest attentively. The camp overlooks the Thanda Private Game Reserve, which is a common place to spot the Big 5 of Africa. The rare African wild dog is also spotted within this region and safari adventures are offered in variety. Game drives, guided walks, and nature exploration are common ones. The accommodation hosts classical camping style tents which are all luxurious in nature, and provide all modern amenities. The Thanda group are the founders of the Project Rhino which is focused on preserving these ancient beasts. Guests are offered all facilities equivalent to other Thanda safari camps.

Facilities

This camp is packed with a number of facilities including both personal and communal. General facilities for all guests include a formal dining area, which has both indoor space and outdoor traditional African boma. Outdoor sala features an open lounge and a splash swimming pool. This pool also provides close encounters with elephants as they often come to drink from here. The camp does not have any electricity yet no luxury or service lack. The camp creates an eco-friendly environment with solar energy powering the camp. The camp also features a wellness center where guests can avail therapy and beauty treatment. Healing reflexology, aromatherapy and hot stone massages are common. The overall spa experience is derived from traditional Zulu culture.

Dining

In total there are fourteen tented camps at Thanda. The canvas camp offers a traditional safari experience with luxury and comfort. Residential tent features a private veranda equipped with an outdoor shower and overlooks the remarkable wildlife around the camp. The suite of general features four poster king size bed, ceiling fan, personal bar and a safe. The suite is also equipped with a lavish bathroom which has a bathtub and shower and offers double toiletries.

The specific Jabula Tent is an ideal stay for romantic couples including honeymooners or small families. It additionally features a private pool and a private sundeck connecting to an outdoor dining.
