Overview

Thanda Safari Lodge is located within Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in Zululand and is an incredible wildlife adventure with the Big 5 of Africa. The main lodge sets up a traditional colonial tented camp and opens doors to incredible safari adventures.

The lodge offers game drives, safari walks, bush excursions, boating cruises, horseback safaris and even fishing safaris. The lodge also offers incredible thrilling activities like diving and soothing activities like the seasonal whale watching.

Thanda focuses on preserving the rare rhinos and have started the Project Rhino. Guests may also learn more about this project and these magnificent beasts. The safari camp also serves the nearby village and works for them as part of community service.

The lodge provides for a photographer who conducts photography learning workshops considering tailored to the equipment you carry. No other camps have permission to trespass within this land, which constitutes to guests at this camp enjoying the safari terrain all to themselves

Facilities

This incredible lodge is equipped with a wellness center which has all sorts of luxury treatment from across the globe. The spa features therapy pools including Kneipp and reflexology, sala treatment in an outdoor area, hydrotherapy bath, steam room and other unique features.

The lodge facilitates the main lodge which has a comfortable lounge area, a library, an outdoor African dining area, wine cellar, business center which is fully equipped, cigar bar and a safari shop where you can acquire your souvenirs.

Dining

The one single package at the lodge includes all your meals and even beverages. The menu hosts a variety of dishes and drinks including both local and international.

The main dining area is a traditional African boma which is an exciting experience under the star-filled sky during night times. Guests may also choose private candlelight dinners within their suites.

Luxury Suite

The lodge houses only nine residential luxury villas. This ensures privacy and spectacular service to each guest staying over.  These villas have an incredible facility to be converted into doubles.

Each villa is equipped with a private viewing deck with a private pool, a sala, a spacious lounge with a warm fireplace and en-suite bathroom with showers both indoors and outdoors. The villa also features a private boma for individuals who prefer dining in privacy.

In addition to the villa for adventure enthusiasts the tented camp features fourteen luxury tents, which offer the opportunity of close encounters with the wild. Each tent has its own viewing deck and en-suite bathrooms with separate showers.

An incredible stay offer is the Honeymoon Tent. It offers luxury and privacy and provides a romantic ambiance. These tents are equipped with king size beds, separate lounge area, and an en-suite bathroom which has a hot tub and a shower.

Families can book the Royal Private Villa. This villa accommodates ten guests at a time and features five private and luxurious suites. This villa facilitates guests with a library, game room, swimming pool which is heated, private viewing deck and a dining boma.

The Honeymoon Tent is a stunning mix of romance, privacy and luxury. Spacious in its design, the tent offers a king-size bed in a bedroom that has a separate lounge area. Outside, a shower and jacuzzi offer spectacular views of the reserve.

For larger families or groups looking for a private and exclusive stay, there is the Royal Private Villa which can accommodate 10 guests in five luxurious suites. Facilities include a private boma, library, games room and heated swimming pool while a magnificent viewing deck overlooks a much-frequented waterhole.
