Overview
The Okonjima Bush Camp is located at the borders of Waterberg Plateau Park in the northern Namibia. It is a comfortable accommodation providing an intimate and attentive environment with only eight private chalets. The vicinity of this camp is ideal for spotting big cats including leopards and cheetahs. Okonjima is part of the AfriCat project and has a wildlife rehabilitation and research center which focuses on preserving these magnificent beasts along with other carnivores of Namibia.
Guests can not only view and observe these big cats but also learn about them and their behaviors. Guests have an exclusive opportunity to take themselves to self-guided adventures through early morning mountain walks. For more exciting game drives, guests are accompanied by an expert ranger. Guests are allowed to explore the reserve on their own where they can encounter over three hundred species of birds making it an exclusive opportunity for birdwatchers. Night drives and walks are also popular within this park, as it offers an incredible experience of spotting nocturnal animals including porcupines, honey badgers and genets.

The Okonjima Bush Camp has a central lodge which is open sided and is designed in a traditional safari architecture. With straw ceiling and African decorations the lounge holds a warm environment and features a fireplace. This main central lounge also incorporates a dining area, which due to the open sides is breezy, and there is a nice bar within here too. The lounge leads outside to an incredible viewing deck which has a warm fire pit. The camp features a swimming pool and both indoor and outdoor dining, to make this an experience to remember.

Dining
The camp starts off your day with a wake-up call that includes a coffee in bed. You are then served some light snacks before you head out to an early morning game drive. On return a lavish breakfast is served. Lunch is a light meal at the camp and within the tradition. It is just about enough to keep you energetic throughout the day and yet keep you active. Dinners on the other hand are heavy, gorgeously presented, finger licking tasty meals which offer a three-course serving. Guests have an option to dine indoors at the communal dining area or outdoors on the wooden deck. You can enjoy the drinks at the bar while viewing the sunset.

With only six rooms at the camp, the Okahirongo River Camp offers privacy, luxury, comfort and great attentive service. The tents are constructed of polished wood giving you an incredible feel of the overall wild. The tents are equipped with four poster beds which are covered in mosquito netting, a separate lounge area and en-suite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. The tents provide a true experience of an African safari and yet provides comfort and luxury.
