Overview
The Kariega Hunting Reserve covers 10,000 hectares of the jungle in Southern Africa in the Eastern Cape Province. Kariega has a number of lodgings, the most modern of which is Settlers Drift.
A modern tent camp uses minimalist furniture, monochrome colors and natural features stone, wood and metal. The Settlers Drift offers only nine very spacious suites, each with spacious living areas, outdoor showers and private terraces. Kariega Settlers Drift is ideal for honeymooners and offers an exclusive romantic getaway. Discreet spa treatments are offered in beautiful surroundings.
Kariega is home to over 25 species of game (including giraffes) and nearly 300 species of birds such as, martial eagles and crowned eagles. In addition to traditional morning and afternoon safaris, there are cruises and canoes on the Boscimani and Kariega rivers, as well as guided walks in the savannah.
The dramatic landscape includes five different ecosystems that allow for different landscapes and exciting photos while driving.

There is a full bar with breathtaking views of the valley, a well-stocked basement and a private dining table next to the basement, which is heated by a roaring fire. Guests can dine at separate tables in the large, bright dining room or near the outdoor pool.

Kariega Settlers Drift offers nine spacious tented suites, each with its own bathroom and fireplace. Each opens onto sunny balconies with a peaceful view of the green Eastern Cape. The bathrooms have double sinks, bathtubs and outdoor showers. The decor is modern and minimalist with white sheets for king-size beds and ceiling fans for the summer months.
*Children between 11 and 16 can share their parent’s suite. Wi-Fi facility is also available in the rooms.
