Ikuka Safari Camp

Overview

Led by expert safaris and knowledgeable guides, the Ikuka Safari Camp is the perfect response for travelers looking to explore the remote and wild Ruaha National Park in Tanzania. Consisting of only six thatched-roof sundecks with an open roof, Ikuka enjoys a breathtaking cliff-top location which overlooks the stunning Ruaha Valley. The view is simply beautiful with a quiet luxury accommodation.

The goal of the Ikuka Safari Camp is to offer game viewing in the best possible way. Less visited Ruaha is one of the largest national parks in Africa and extends to the typical South and East African environment. The result is a large variety of wildlife and some of the largest populations of lions and elephants on the continent. The number of birds is about 500 species, which makes it a paradise for birdwatchers, and guided safaris can be easily organized at the campsite.

Open all year except in April and May (heavy rainy season); the field is an accessible destination, usually reached from Dar es Salaam. It combines well with wildlife destinations in central and southern Tanzania, such as the Selous Game Reserve and the Katavi and Mahale National Parks. With Dar es Salaam as its logistics center, Ikuka Safari Camp is also a good choice for travelers who want to combine a safari with a seaside holiday on the Tanzanian coast or the Zanzibar archipelago.
