Ibo Island Lodge

Overview

Embark on a journey in the blue waters of the Indian Ocean and swim on the island of Ibo, where you can go on diving and snorkeling trips. The island lies in the amazing archipelago of Mozambique’s Quirimbas, home to some of the world’s most beautiful coral reefs, pristine beaches and coastal forests packed with birds. Ibo Island Lodge has three 150-year-old houses that have been restored to offer the luxury and glory of fragrant gardens and rolling palm trees.

The island was originally part of an old trade route and has many historic ruins that reflect its ancient splendor: ideal for travelers who want to experience authentic Africa. Make sure that you buy handmade gold jewelry in their simple laboratories.

Snorkeling and diving on traditional sailboats will allow you to discover the surrounding islands; a nearby sandy beach has some spectacular underwater runs and one of Africa’s largest mangrove forests. Combine your holiday on the island Lodge with enriching cultural and historical tours, where you can meet the inhabitants of Swahili and admire the fascinating combination of Arabic and Portuguese architecture dating back to 1600s.
