Overview
Positioned on the banks of the Chongwe River close to the Lower Zambezi National Park, Chongwe River Camp offers a non-intrusive safari practice in a calm, usual setting where great herds of elephant wander. The Lower Zambezi valley has the most excellent game viewing in Southern Africa along with several of the most overwhelming flora and fauna. You can calm down in the sitting area overlooking the river and observe the steady flow of animals coming to drink. The riverbanks are also very incredible for bird watching. This area is home to over 250 species of wildlife animals. You are able to get closer to the nature while on guided game drives in open 4×4 vehicles, on a relaxing canoe safari, or you could find a quiet spot and try your hand at tiger fish angling. In addition to the nine double tents, there are two tented family suites, each with their individual dining and living area, plunge pool and outdoor fire pit.

Rooms
Standard Tent
The nine tents at the Chongwe River Camp are big, deluxe Mulati tents located under thatch, with open air in room bathrooms. Each tent houses two people on twin or king sized beds and has a dressing area along with a wardrobe and a full length mirror. The bathrooms have an outdoor shower and fittings made from ordinary materials found near the lodge. Positioned underneath a canopy of thorns and is surrounded by fresh lawns. The tents have a fabulous view of the gorgeous Chongwe and Zambezi rivers from their classified decks. The Albida Suite sleeps four in two roomy octagonal tents divided by a lounge and dining area and is perfect for families travelling collectively. It has a bar fridge, exclusive use plunge pool and a fire pit. The interiors are a combination of Victorian and African fundamentals with packed couches, hardwoods and soft linen. The two in rom outdoor bathroom tents have twin vanities, a traditional ball-and-claw tub and a flush toilet. The Cassia Suite sleeps two and, in adding to all the same features of the Albida Suite, it also has an uplifting rain shower and a completely stocked bar.
