Overview
Chobe Bakwena Lodge overlooks the Chobe River in northern Botswana. This intimate, family-run eco-lodge has been carefully designed to provide comfort and warm hospitality in a region with one of the highest levels of concentration in Africa.
The lodge has a beautiful riverfront façade and its unique location on the edge of Chobe National Park allows you to access it through safaris. The nearby village is the place where you can meet the people of Botswana and experience “true Africa” by visiting the school and community village.
Ideal for the responsible traveler, the lodge offers soothing features such as the control of environmental parasites (chickens devour insects!) and an eco-friendly pool that is filtered by plants. Traditionally, straw houses have been built according to the principles of low environmental impact and offer comfortable interiors that celebrate local culture with a contemporary touch and breathtaking views of the river.
Bakwena is close enough to Victoria Falls to enjoy a day trip to Africa’s mightiest waterfall. The activities of the lodge include wildlife viewing, boat tours, 4×4 driving, bird watching, cycling and walking in the village.
