Between the acacia trees on the banks of the meandering, intermittent Savute Canal just south of the world famous Chobe National Park in Botswana, Belmond Savute Elephant Camp is known for fantastic year-round game drives safaris and viewing a large herd of elephants wandering the plain.

The 20-meter-high raised swimming pool overlooks a riverbed for the game viewing experience, while inside there is a well-stocked reference library with many comfortable sofas. High-powered telescopes are available to watch the stars in the night.

The ancient Bushman rock paintings can also be arranged under the supervision of large towering baobabs.

Dining

Dinner and evening meals can be tasted together in the traditional boma, with a menu that includes African dishes such as samp and beans, Pumba stew, beef Seswaa beans and Bobotie – not to mention the classic desserts of Afrikaans, the milk tarts, and Koeksusters.

Guests are also invited to dine on their decks in their tents if they prefer a more intimate affair with their partner.

Lunch is served in the elevated restaurant to enjoy the view. Breakfast is often served outside of the bush.

Luxury Tent

12 luxurious tents provide twin beds and a fascinating view of the comfortable oasis in the heart of the Savute Canal. Each tent is decorated with a traditional African thatched roof and has a large, furnished private deck with armchairs and a hammock, which are ideal for game viewing or having romantic dinners.

The beautifully appointed interiors feature poster beds with mosquito nets and spacious bathrooms which have two sinks and private outdoor showers. A well-stocked mini bar, air conditioning, and ceiling fans also provide absolute comfort and relaxation to the guests.
