Bartholomeus has been restored to the highest level of comfort and is furnished with charming décor. It has an appealing and pleasant room upstairs, with a balcony to overlook the scenery that makes you feel right at home with a magical setting for sundowners.

You can even take a stroll down to the Deckhouse by the lake to find a private spot with your beloved and use the indoor equipment for fishing, windsurfing or canoeing.

Relax with some refreshing drinks in the beautiful gardens around the house or refresh yourself in the converted farm dam which is now a saltwater pool surrounded by sun loungers on a wooden deck. You can go to visit the Cape Winelands for some pure, original and freshly brewed country wine.

Dining

The food choices at the Bartholomeus Klip is a fine combination of French tradition and Cape flavors, thus using as much of the locally fresh produced ingredients.

The food is taken very seriously to achieve a well-deserved reputation at Bartholomeus Klip. The kitchen is staffed by a professional chef who prepares delicious meals for guest for their tailored choices.

A delicious brunch is served right after the morning safari which is accompanied by a variety of fresh fruits, cereals, cheeses, and desserts, as well as with a full English breakfast. A candle dinner is served and sparkling silver to complete the 4-course gourmet menu.

Built from an old farm building, the Orchid Suite is a large, spacious and a separate unit with a king-size bed and a veranda which overlooks the reserve scenery and the distant mountains

Luxury Rooms

Bartholomeus Klip has four luxurious rooms in the main house which is designed with traditional antiques, fine fabrics and pure cotton linens. There are three more spacious and inviting suites.

The four bedrooms in the main house are well-decorated and have a king-sized bed or two twin beds, with a Victorian style bath and sink in the bathrooms. The Disa bedroom has the characteristic compliment of French doors that open to a veranda.

Opened to the requests for a self-catering option, the Wild Olive House offers a perfect choice for small groups and families. The interior has a large open living area, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. There are two double bedrooms and a single room with two bathrooms. The house has its garden, swimming pool, and a large covered veranda.

Located in the garden inside the Wild Olive house, The Cottage is a separate suite with a double bedroom, bathroom, and a small living room. There is also a private veranda overlooks the views of the reserve. The cottage is a perfect choice for grandparents or a group of friends.
