The contrasting country: view the magnificent Okavango Delta, unmatched beauty in the Kalahari and elephant zones in Chobe.

Botswana is one of Africa’s top destination as it has a lot of traditional game wildlife to see and enjoy. Travellers have wide vacation packages to select from. Okavango Delta is also known as the evergreen jewel is one of the other most attractive tourist attractions in Botswana. Rolling savannah of the Savuti surrounds it on the east and Chobe which is swarming with elephants.

South of the Okavango Delta lies spectacular sights which are the Makgadikgadi saltpans which stretch over such a large area and also the Kalahari semi-desert grasslands. One can go on game drives which can either be guided or self-drive, cruises on the river, nature walks, canoe trips or ride on elephants and horses so as to get a higher view of the legendary wildlife that Botswana has to offer.

Chobe is a must visit as it is home to the largest population of elephants in the whole of Africa. It also has large herds of zebra, buffalo and wide array of antelope species. Due to the abundance of large herds of herbivores and large plains, there are many predators as well. These predators include the lion, hyena, rare wild dogs and leopard. One can do bird watching as well as there are varieties of birds in Botswana.

Makgadikgadi saltpans and Kalahari scrub land allows for unique outdoor activities like quad biking and cultural interactions with the San who are Africa’s first people. The green season migration in Botswana happens between the months of January and March depending on the rainfall which is seasonal. The rains fill the waterholes in the desert which allows vegetation to thrive and in turn thousands of antelope and zebra migrate into this area. With the migration of the zebras and antelopes is also the migration of the predators to prey on the herbivores.
