The emphasis is on outdoor spaces, with the expansive central living areas opening up directly onto the magnificent landscape. Celebrating the local heritage, traditional materials of thatch, gum-pole and stone tile are used throughout the lodge.

Sole-use Villa
Phinda Homestead is designed for small groups of families and friends. It’s an ideal place to reconnect and rest.
Four bedrooms can accommodate a maximum of eight people. The villa is spacious and roomy with large windows that flood the house with sunlight. Bedrooms designed to give an awesome view from the moment you wake.
Comfortable viewing decks allow uninterrupted sight over villa surrounds. The private pool is surrounded by cozy loungers. There’s also a small, well-equipped gym – with views, of course. Guest can enjoy delicious meals in the dining area or under the stars, lit by romantic lanterns in their own private outdoor boma.

Activities
With your own dedicated vehicle, guide and tracker, you can set off for game drives as and when you want to. Phinda Game Reserve offers all the Big 5 and you’ll have a good chance of spotting cheetah, lion and leopard, as well as black and white rhino. There are also majestic nyala antelope in abundance. In the northern reaches of the park, you may be lucky enough to see some very rare species like the shy red duiker and the tiny suni. The chef can also prepare you a picnic lunch if you want to make a day of it.
And there’s plenty of downtime to help you relax – spend time lounging on one of the viewing decks with a pair of binoculars, sunbathe beside the swimming pool or gather around the fire in the boma with a freshly prepared drink, served by your butler, while your private chef prepares your dinner.
More active guests should head to the gym for a workout with a twist: excellent views of the dramatic Phinda landscape are on offer from this modern and convenient facility.
